The Goals and Concerns: Our client was searching for a better way to enjoy a pool in New England while trying to extend the pool season. In this build, we faced some historical and conservation obstacles while also having to deal with a high water table and height restrictions. The Solution: Taking everything into account, we ended up building a 20’x36’ hybrid in ground/above ground custom ICF pool with a 6’ deep end and a 3’6” shallow end. The pool has a haunch footing embedded in the insulated concrete slab due to height restrictions. Using the Heat Sheet EPS insulation in the custom ICF pool slab helps ensure that the ground temperature is not constantly battling the pool water temperature. The pool is heated with a 250,000 BTU pool heater, and will have an automated cover installed to help prevent heat loss in the colder months. The inside of the custom ICF pool will be finished with Sider Crete plaster and tile. |
